Position Objective:

The Custodial Technician plays a vital role in supporting the Maintenance Supervisor by ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of JWCH and Wesley Health Care facilities. This position is essential for maintaining a hygienic, safe, and orderly environment through various cleaning and maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain the cleanliness of JWCH health care and associated facilities through a variety of cleaning tasks, including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and polishing surfaces, as well as emptying waste bins and replacing liners as necessary.
  2. Perform cleaning duties in all areas of a medical facility, including patient examination rooms, restrooms, laboratories, diagnostic testing areas, staff workspaces, offices, corridors, and waiting areas.
  3. Sanitize restrooms thoroughly, ensuring toilets, sinks, and mirrors are clean and presentable.
  4. Restock restroom supplies, including soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
  5. Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors to maintain a clear and professional appearance.
  6. Utilize floor cleaning machinery, such as scrubbers and carpet cleaners, to maintain flooring.
  7. Address stains and uphold the aesthetic quality of carpets and rugs.
  8. Sort and separate recyclable materials from general waste to promote sustainability.
  9. Adhere to proper disposal methods for hazardous materials.
  10. Ensure safe storage and handling of cleaning supplies.
  11. Report any safety hazards or incidents to the appropriate personnel promptly.
  12. Secure premises by properly locking doors and following security protocols as required.
  13. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  1. Valid CA Driver's License with a clean driving record and the ability to travel to various sites.
  2. Basic computer skills, including proficiency in email and web navigation.
  3. Capability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  4. Flexibility to work varied hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  5. Physical ability to stand for extended periods.
  6. Physical capability to bend, stoop, and stretch frequently.
  7. Knowledge of effective cleaning methods, equipment operation, and safe handling of cleaning chemicals.
  8. Ability to comprehend and follow instructions, procedures, and safety protocols.
  9. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  10. Previous experience in janitorial or custodial roles is preferred.
  11. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
