Wellstar Health System is seeking a dedicated Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to enhance our thriving Neurosurgical team.
Role Responsibilities
- Assist in surgical procedures as the primary first assistant approximately two days per week.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including taking medical histories and performing physical examinations, ensuring meticulous documentation in patient records.
- Deliver high-quality patient care through evaluation and treatment strategies tailored to individual needs.
- Document patient progress and prepare detailed summaries that highlight significant clinical findings.
- Formulate effective care plans aimed at reducing complications and addressing issues proactively, utilizing preventative and alternative treatment options.
- Conduct pre-operative evaluations for surgical candidates, collaborating with supervising physicians to ensure all necessary pre-surgical requirements are met in a timely manner.
- Prior experience in Neurosurgery is preferred.
- Must possess an ACNP or AG-ACNP certification or be a licensed Physician Assistant.
- Experience in operating room settings is advantageous.
- ACLS and BLS certifications are mandatory.
- Certification in NIHSS and Modified Rankin scale is required.
