LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) - Skilled Care Professional

In collaboration with the RN/Unit Director, the Licensed Practical Nurse utilizes a comprehensive understanding of nursing principles and basic physical assessment skills to develop and implement individualized nursing care plans, ensuring the needs of residents are met.
The LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) is responsible for assisting in the orientation and supervision of nursing personnel, attending to daily unit operations, and assuming leadership roles as needed.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of rehabilitative and geriatric nursing, with the ability to positively interact with residents, families, and staff.
Key responsibilities include:
- Taking an active role in direct resident assessment and care
- Administering medication and/or treatment, and documenting same
- Assisting in developing and implementing resident care plans
- Counting and recording class drugs
- Communicating pertinent data to charge nurses, superiors, and physicians
- Providing emotional and physical comfort and safety of residents
- Assisting physicians in rounds and examinations, as needed
- Supervising and coordinating nursing personnel in providing direct resident care
- Ensuring residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere
Requirements include:
- Graduation from an approved school for practical or vocational nursing
- Current licensure by the State Board of Nursing
- Experience in rehabilitative or geriatric nursing preferred
