Surgical Scheduler

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Surgical Scheduler to join our team at the Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for scheduling all outpatient surgeries and procedures, ensuring seamless coordination with our medical staff and patients.

• Schedule outpatient surgeries and procedures, ensuring timely and efficient coordination with our medical staff and patients.
• Obtain and add patient demographics and insurance information into our billing system.
• Verify patient benefits and obtain necessary authorization from payers.
• Coordinate with our Director of Nursing to ensure availability of necessary equipment, staff, and services.
• Distribute the daily surgery schedule to our nursing staff, RNs, and other relevant personnel.
• Capture accurate clinical, demographic, and insurance information on patients scheduled at the surgery center.
• Communicate with our Director of Nursing and other staff members regarding same-day and next-day add-on cases.
• Monitor and maintain block time, ensuring efficient use of our resources.
• Prepare daily bank deposits for monies received at the surgery center.
• Cross-train to cover the front desk during lunches, breaks, and extended absences of our Receptionist/Admitting Clerk.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum one year of scheduling experience in an ambulatory surgery facility, acute-care hospital, or doctor's office.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with HST/HST Case Coordination preferred but not required.
• Proficient with Outlook email and computer experience required.
• Adheres to all HIPAA guidelines and regulations.
