Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our team at Jobot. As a Paralegal, you will assist attorneys in managing probate cases, including estates, trusts, and guardianships.

Responsibilities
  • Case Management: Assist attorneys in managing probate cases, including estates, trusts, and guardianships.
  • Maintain Case Files: Maintain case files and ensure all documentation is up to date and accurate.
  • Document Preparation: Draft, proofread, and file legal documents such as wills, trusts, petitions, inventories, accountings, and notices.
  • Prepare Estate Tax Returns: Prepare estate tax returns and other necessary forms.
  • Client Communication: Serve as a point of contact for clients, providing updates and responding to inquiries.
  • Gather Information: Gather necessary information and documents from clients and other parties involved.
  • Court Filings: File legal documents with the appropriate court systems, both electronically and in person.
  • Calendar and Monitor Court Dates: Calendar and monitor court dates and deadlines.
  • Research: Conduct legal research on probate laws and procedures.
  • Assist in Preparation of Legal Briefs: Assist in the preparation of legal briefs and memoranda.
  • Estate Administration: Assist in the administration of estates, including asset identification, valuation, and distribution.
  • Coordinate with Professionals: Coordinate with appraisers, accountants, and other professionals.
  • Billing and Administrative Duties: Track time and assist with billing for probate matters.
  • Perform Administrative Duties: Perform other administrative duties as needed, such as scheduling appointments and managing correspondence.
Qualifications
  • Paralegal certification or equivalent experience.
  • Prior experience in probate or estate planning.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research and legal software.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
