Job Summary

Kaleida Health is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain sterile fields and instruments for surgical and procedural cases.
  • Count and verify surgical instruments and supplies according to policy.
  • Collaborate with the circulating RN and/or charge RN to promote patient flow and provide high-quality care.
  • Perform tasks and responsibilities within the framework of medical information gathering, health teaching, and health counseling under the direction of a registered professional nurse or licensed physician.
  • Adhere to current Kaleida Health policies and standards of practice.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required upon hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire.
  • Completion of a Nationally Accredited Surgical Technology Program or completion of a Military Surgical Technology Program required upon hire.
  • Maintain national CST certification, granted by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA), which requires 60 hours of approved continuing education every four years.
  • Complete 15 hours of continuing education (CE) each year.
Work Environment

This is a full-time position with a scheduled work hours of 7p-7a. The salary range is $31.51-$39.90 per hour, and the position is located at Children's Hospital in Buffalo, NY.
