Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team at The Bernard Group | Smartpress. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine building maintenance tasks, ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the ingress and egress of company properties, ensuring safe and secure access for employees and visitors.
  • Inspect buildings and other structures to identify functional systems and detect malfunctions, making recommendations for repairs and maintenance.
  • Perform minor electrical and plumbing maintenance, including replacement or repair of fixtures, appliances, and other equipment.
  • Conduct minor painting, carpentry, and masonry work, preparing surfaces and applying paints, stains, and varnishes.
  • Reconfigure, install, position, and remount modular offices and space, including furniture, wall panels, work surfaces, and storage bins.
  • Prepare surfaces and paint various structures and equipment to preserve wood and metal parts from corrosion and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Order and procure parts, maintaining required documents and records.
  • Work closely with all departments to manage requests and facility needs in effective priority order.
  • Liaise with contracted facilities services and projects, including maintenance, cleaning, utilities, and construction.
  • Perform miscellaneous tasks and projects as requested by management.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 5 years of experience in commercial property maintenance preferred
  • 1+ years of maintenance experience preferred
  • Familiarity with OSHA safety requirements
  • Familiarity with local building codes and ability to retrieve up-to-date information
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
