Job Summary

ND Energy Services is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. As a Diesel Mechanic for Workover Rigs, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance checks and repairs on workover rigs and equipment to ensure they are running within proper limitations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine and moderately complex scheduled maintenance or repair work on workover rigs and mechanical equipment, including motors, transmissions, mud pumps, swivels, wranglers, crew trucks, and dog houses.
  • Diagnostic and Repair: Diagnose problems on workover rigs and auxiliary equipment based on reports from the field, and perform required repairs based on troubleshooting mechanical equipment.
  • Inspections and Quality Control: Inspect completed repairs by less experienced mechanics and perform preventative maintenance inspections, including DOT annual inspections.
  • Communication and Documentation: Maintain log books of all equipment repairs, services, adjustments, and work performed, and communicate effectively with team members and management.
  • Adaptability and Safety: Work in the shop or in the field, depending on company rig operating procedures, and adapt to changing situations and priorities while maintaining a safe working environment.
Requirements
  • Knowledge and Skills: Possess knowledge and understanding of well service/workover equipment, and be familiar with rebuilding, inspecting, and repairing equipment, including hydraulic, electrical, and overhaul of engines and transmissions.
  • Problem-Solving and Organizational Skills: Ability to assess and troubleshoot equipment failure, and possess organizational and problem-solving skills to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical Demands and Certifications: Must be able to lift 60 lbs. and handle physical demanding work, and possess a valid driver's license and be able to obtain a Class A or B License.
Work Environment

This job primarily operates in an indoor work environment but may occasionally operate in an outside environment. The role occasionally works in all weather conditions, including extreme wind, rain, cold, heat, etc.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position that regularly requires long hours and weekend work as job duties demand.
