Position: Graduate Assistant for Athletic Communications

The University of Mary is seeking a Graduate Assistant to support the Athletic Communications department, focusing on Creative Content and Video production. This role is pivotal in enhancing the visibility of Marauders athletics through engaging multimedia content across various platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the creation of multimedia content for social media, game day events, and promotional activities.
  • Capture live game footage and edit highlight reels to showcase athletic performances.
  • Manage and curate department social media accounts, developing an editorial calendar for consistent engagement.
  • Oversee in-game productions for live webcasts and videoboards across multiple sports.
  • Assist individual teams with their social media presence and maintain the athletics website.
  • Act as the primary media contact for designated teams as needed.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned to support the department's goals.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree is required, along with full-time enrollment in a graduate program.
  • Eligibility for admission to Graduate Studies at the University of Mary is essential.
  • Experience in producing diverse media content, including written, visual, and video formats.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite for graphic design and video editing.
  • A background in communication, journalism, public relations, sports management, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Experience in collegiate athletics or a university public relations setting is advantageous.
  • Ability to shoot and edit video content, including live events and interviews.
  • Strong skills in editing video and photos, along with graphic design capabilities using Adobe tools.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with a solid understanding of social media dynamics.
  • Knowledge of photography is a plus.
  • The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive information responsibly.
  • Commitment to upholding the Christian, Catholic, Benedictine mission of the University of Mary is required.
  • Support for the implementation of Ex Corde Ecclesiae and fostering a culture of hospitality within the Office of Intercollegiate Athletics is expected.
