Job Summary

Under the supervision of the facilities management team, the Maintenance Technician will perform skilled and semi-skilled work in various maintenance fields, including HVAC, carpentry, electrical, equipment mechanics, and plumbing-fitting. The ideal candidate will have acquired sufficient training and experience to complete repairs in these areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC equipment, including filter changes, lubrication, and repairs.
  • Repair and replace light fixtures, switches, and receptacles, including lamp holders, lamps, ballasts, and fixtures.
  • Repair and replace plumbing fixtures, including sinks, toilets, urinals, faucets, and flush valves.
  • Repair and replace furniture and office equipment, including installation of whiteboards, screens, bulletin boards, and display cabinets.
  • Repair drywall and prepare surfaces for painting, caulking, and minor door repairs.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on roofs, including diagnosis of leaks and maintenance of roof sumps and areas.
  • Assist HVAC, skilled maintenance, and other staff personnel as needed.
  • Provide preventative maintenance of pool equipment, including maintenance of chemical levels and pump and filtration systems.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Michigan Driver's License and a clean driving record.
  • Five years of experience or training in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and carpentry trades.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to supervise others.
  • Proven record of dependability and reliability.
Work Environment

The Maintenance Technician will work in a fast-paced environment with variable hours, including days, afternoons, and nights. The position requires the ability to work in a variety of settings, including outdoor weather conditions and with the risk of electrical shock.

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining a safe and healthy work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
