About the Role
We are seeking an intermediate-level Environmental Sustainability Specialist to become a key member of our Sustainability team within the Building Specialty Services group. In this role, you will:
  • Lead project teams in developing tailored sustainability strategies and energy conservation measures.
  • Guide the process to achieve various Green Building certifications, including LEED, WELL, and BOMA BEST.
  • Assess and monitor sustainability initiatives implemented on projects.
  • Communicate sustainability requirements to clients, architects, engineers, and contractors.
  • Conduct peer reviews of submissions for green building certification bodies.
  • Participate in project design and construction meetings, documenting discussions and decisions.
  • Manage internal sustainability projects, ensuring technical quality and accuracy.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and education.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of direct experience with green building rating systems.
  • A solid understanding of various building systems and sustainability challenges.
  • LEED Accredited Professional status in one or more rating systems.
  • Ability to obtain a Reliability Clearance with Public Service and Procurement Canada.
  • WELL AP designation is a valuable asset.
  • Familiarity with ISO standards for GHG Inventory Quantification & Verification.
  • Experience with Life Cycle Assessment Software is a plus.
  • A strong commitment to sustainability and a proactive work ethic.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
