Assistant Manager Overview
As an Assistant Manager, you'll lead by example, fostering a culture of inclusivity and excellence. Your responsibilities will include:
• Leading associate and client engagement
• Achieving store goals, including financial objectives and client service
• Operating as the Manager on Duty in the absence of another Manager

- Models and coaches Lane Selling behaviors to drive store performance
- Adjusts schedules to flex to the needs of the business and optimizes store payroll
- Resolves customer concerns quickly and effectively, empowering teams to do the same
- Fosters a culture that embraces diversity in thought, background, and experience
- Demonstrates transparency, influencing in a courageous and respectful way to drive strategy and results
- Ensures all communications are shared with the appropriate audience
- Creates and supports a culture that values how work is done as much as the outcome
- Reports to work as scheduled, records time worked accurately, and remains flexible to the needs of the business
- Performs all other duties as assigned by Store, District, or Regional Leaders
- Drives operational excellence, leading by example and setting the standard for a high-performing culture
- Supports visual updates and maintains visual merchandising standards using the Brand Guide
- Partners with Store Managers to recognize opportunities and adjusts strategy to align with business demands
- Prioritizes and controls workload through successful planning and delegation
- Manages controllable expenses
- Complies with Asset Protection policies and practices, promoting health and safety within the store
- Promotes innovative solutions that bring originality to the organization
- Embraces change, leading teams with a sense of urgency and agility
- Sets strategies for teams that promote a test and learn culture
- Initiates continuous product movement based on Brand directives, client profile, and store sales
- Creates an environment that promotes taking risk and out-of-the-box thinking
- Strong communication, supervisory, and customer service skills
- 6 months to 1 year of specialty retail experience; selling environment preferred
- Prior management experience preferred
- Technology proficiency and strong business acumen
- Works a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, including evening, weekend, and holiday shifts
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English; other languages desirable
- High school diploma (or equivalent) required
- Constantly moves throughout the store to assist customers, retrieve merchandise, complete floor sets, unpack and replenish stock, and complete other tasks; frequently involves prolonged pushing, pulling, bending, squatting, and reaching and may involve tight or confined spaces
- Frequently operates a computerized register system
- Responds in person to occasional, unscheduled store banking requirements and store alarms
- Adjusts or moves objects (garment racks, mannequins, etc.) or merchandise weighing up to 25 pounds in all directions on a frequent basis; may need to adjust or move objects or merchandise weighing as much as 50 pounds in all directions on occasion and with assistance as available
- Retrieves merchandise displayed or stored above shoulder level on a frequent basis, which may include climbing an 8-foot ladder; may need to replace overhead lightbulbs, signs, etc. on an occasional basis using an 8-foot ladder
- Constantly interacts with and assists coworkers and clients and other members of the public
