Job ResponsibilitiesUnder general supervision and adhering to established protocols, the Radiologic Imaging Specialist will:
- Conduct diagnostic imaging procedures using appropriate equipment.
- Confirm patient identity and review medical records to ensure the appropriateness of the exam.
- Interview patients to gather and verify medical history, assessing any risk factors.
- Clearly explain procedures to patients, including potential side effects and follow-up care.
- Prepare imaging equipment and acquire necessary images as per established guidelines.
- Review and analyze images, documenting any deviations from standard protocols and communicating findings to the radiologist.
- Respond to medical emergencies as necessary.
- Provide post-procedure care instructions as prescribed by the physician.
- Engage in quality improvement initiatives within the radiology department.
- Offer educational support to residents, student technologists, and new staff members.
- Be available for on-call duties as required by the department.
Minimum qualifications include:
- Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography (R).
- Completion of American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BLS) training by the end of the orientation period.

- Strong analytical and clinical skills for providing age-appropriate imaging.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with patients.
- Technical proficiency in operating imaging equipment and related technology.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

- Manual dexterity and visual acuity for producing high-quality diagnostic images.
