About the Role

The San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Security Officer I to join our team. As a Security Officer I, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our visitors, employees, and wildlife.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a positive security presence to promote a safe and inclusive environment.
  • Respond to and support calls for medical assistance and emergency situations.
  • Conduct investigations and prepare accurate and thorough reports.
  • Respond to guest issues, including disagreements, disorderly conduct, and lost children/persons.
  • Respond to emergency situations, including fires, power outages, and inclement weather.
  • Assist guests and staff, and provide information as necessary.
  • Transport and escort money and secure vaults.
Requirements
  • One year of experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field.
  • California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS) Guard Card.
  • First Aid and Adult/Child/Infant CPR with AED certifications within 30 days.
  • California driver's license upon hire.
