About the Role

The Bipartisan Policy Center is seeking a seasoned professional to serve as the Director, Policy Communications (Health and Economic Policy). This key leadership position will play a critical role in advancing the organization's mission through strategic communications.

As a member of the senior leadership team, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive communications strategies to promote BPC's policy initiatives and enhance its reputation as a leading voice on economic and health policy issues.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute media relations plans to secure top-tier national media coverage for BPC's policy projects and issue area experts.
  • Cultivate relationships with reporters, journalists, producers, and editors to raise the profile of BPC's issue area experts.
  • Collaborate with digital media teams to integrate digital strategies into media relations efforts.
  • Work closely with events teams to create compelling content that attracts participation from and coverage by top-tier media outlets.
  • Respond to media inquiries from top-tier national media outlets.

Qualifications:

  • 10-15 years of direct experience in media relations and communications on economic and health policy.
  • Strong writing and verbal skills required.
  • Significant experience in health, fiscal, tax, or financial security policy communications.
  • Able to work under tight deadlines and juggle multiple projects.
  • Demonstrated innovative and proactive approach to growing media coverage.
  • Experience working with top-tier national media operations and news organizations.
