Position Overview:
As a Radiation Oncology Travel Nurse, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality patient care. Your responsibilities will include:
- Administering radiation therapy treatments, ensuring precise patient positioning and equipment adjustments for optimal treatment delivery.
- Monitoring patient health throughout the treatment process to assess their response and identify any potential adverse reactions.
- Conducting and documenting X-rays to assist in the planning of radiation treatment based on tumor location.
- Gathering and analyzing patient data to contribute to the development of innovative treatment approaches.
- Providing education to patients regarding their treatment options and expected recovery timelines.
- Offering emotional support to patients undergoing treatment for serious health conditions.
- Supervising the work of technicians involved in the treatment process.
- Reporting safety concerns to the appropriate personnel to maintain a safe treatment environment.
- Explaining the implications of radiation therapy on patient health and well-being.
Qualifications:
- BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Certification as a Principal Investigator (CPI) from the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
- Comprehensive understanding of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
- Ability to maintain a standing position for extended periods.
- Proficient technical skills.
- Passion for providing exceptional patient care.
- Minimum of two years of recent RN experience in Radiation Oncology.
- Graduation from an accredited RN program.
- Active, unrestricted RN license in California.
- One year of experience with Epic software.
Requirements:
- COVID vaccination, including two shots and a booster.
