Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Admissions-Intake Coordinator to join our team at Heartland Behavioral Health. As a key member of our intake department, you will play a vital role in ensuring a smooth and efficient admission process for our patients and their families.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a decision tree and crisis calls to provide effective support to patients and families
  • Conduct thorough clinical assessments and gather necessary data to inform treatment plans
  • Support the admission process by verifying patient information, obtaining necessary paperwork, and communicating with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry into our computer system
  • Provide excellent customer service and support to patients, families, and referral sources
  • Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours and weekend coverage
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Graduate of high school diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor's degree in psychology or social work with a minimum of 2 years' experience working in the mental health field
  • Specific experience in admissions-intake department preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of insurance verification, medical necessity requirements, and benefit plans
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Word, Excel, and other hospital-specific programs
