Surface Coating Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Surface Coating Specialist plays a crucial role in the finishing process of products by applying protective or decorative materials. Under the guidance of the department Supervisor/Manager, this position involves the use of spray guns to coat various surface parts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assess and select appropriate mixtures of coating materials.
• Apply coatings to components as specified in job orders.
• Identify and treat areas that are difficult to reach with standard application methods.
• Diagnose and resolve issues with equipment, including paint guns.
• Operate ovens as required for the coating process.
• Conduct visual inspections of masking on components to ensure uniformity and check for any product damage.
• Complete necessary documentation related to the coating process.
• Collaborate closely with the production team and provide assistance as needed.
• Follow all safety protocols and regulations.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Proficient in reading, writing, and understanding English.
• Basic mathematical skills are required.
• Experience with gravity spray guns, including troubleshooting capabilities.
• Previous work experience in the aerospace sector or automotive repair is advantageous.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effective collaboration with team members.

This position is subject to ITAR regulations, necessitating that the employee be classified as a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to walk and stand for extended periods.
• Capability to lift items weighing up to 30 lbs.
• Exposure to heat, noise, and chemical fumes in production environments.
• Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity are required.
