Role Overview

This Special Education Assistant role is an integral part of our team at Mozaic, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate individual to work in our preschool setting, providing direct and indirect special education services to children with and without disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement daily routines and activities as outlined in Life Plans/Individual Service Plans (ISPs) for preschool children.
  • Collaborate with teachers and therapists to develop and implement preschool curriculum and individual goals.
  • Maintain the overall organization of classroom equipment and supplies, as well as ensure the physical maintenance of the classroom environment.
  • Create educational materials and displays showcasing children's art, curriculum themes, and special events.
  • Supervise students during arrival, dismissal, and throughout the school day.
  • Assist with diapering, toileting, and toilet training as needed.
  • Promote healthy eating habits by preparing morning and afternoon snacks and supervising lunch.
  • Plan engaging activities and meals for daycare children.
Requirements:
  • Holds a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Demonstrates discretion when handling confidential information.
  • Exhibits effective communication and teamwork skills within a collaborative environment.
