Position Overview

AECOM is currently looking for a motivated and talented Entry-Level Geotechnical/Structural Engineer for immediate placement in our offices.

The ideal candidate will possess a background in civil engineering with a focus on geotechnical and structural disciplines. This role requires relocation to the specified office locations, as remote work is not an option.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct site assessments and evaluate existing structures.
  • Supervise geotechnical drilling activities.
  • Document and categorize soil samples, creating formal boring logs.
  • Generate comprehensive reports, including photographic documentation and repair suggestions.
  • Perform structural calculations for various components such as slabs, walls, and foundations.
  • Execute geotechnical analyses, including slope stability and bearing capacity evaluations.
  • Collaborate with drafting teams to produce construction drawings.
  • Review construction phase RFIs and modify designs as necessary.
  • Provide CAD support for diverse project types.
  • Assist in report preparation and coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Engage in engineering design and analysis under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Create designs, models, and calculations while adhering to project timelines and budgets.
  • Apply relevant regulations to develop necessary standards for project design and permitting.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in civil engineering or a related field.
  • U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of the work.
  • A valid U.S. driver's license is necessary for site visits and client interactions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in civil engineering.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Civil3D.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification is preferred.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent organizational, technical, and communication abilities.
  • Ability to work efficiently within project timelines.
  • Willingness to collaborate with team members and subcontractors.
  • Flexibility to engage in various projects and travel as needed.

Additional Information

Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Travel to job sites is required at a rate of approximately 10%.
