Job Summary

New England Homes for the Deaf is seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team. As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will provide speech and language therapy evaluation, treatment, teaching, and consultation to our patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate patients to identify speech and language disorders and develop individualized therapy plans.
  • Provide therapy sessions to patients to improve their speech and language skills.
  • Analyze evaluation results and design a therapy program to meet the needs of each patient.
  • Implement a treatment plan that addresses the unique needs of each patient.
  • Evaluate and report patient progress to the treatment team, caregivers, and supervisor as necessary.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and training to stay current with best practices in speech and language therapy.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for our patients.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's, master's, or doctorate degree in speech-language pathology from an accredited program.
  • A valid and current professional license as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Massachusetts.
  • Massachusetts DESE Educator License (or in process).
  • An attitude of respect and compassion towards all residents and staff.
  • Pleasant personality and ability to maintain a calm demeanor during excitable or emergency situations.
  • Ability to communicate clearly using American Sign Language (ASL) is preferred.
