About the Role

Via Licensing Alliance is a leading collaborative licensing organization dedicated to advancing inclusive and efficient new patent licensing approaches. As a Royalty Analyst, you will play a crucial role in our team, processing Licensor royalty allocations and distributions with accuracy and meeting set deadlines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Royalty Calculation and Reporting: Prepare and review royalty calculations and corresponding reports, Licensor distributions, and reconciliations. Assist with quarterly and ad hoc patent data, changes, and transfers, and market research reports.
  • Licensor Customer Management: Manage all aspects and provide main point of contact for Licensor customer accounts. Perform quarterly Settlement Statement and Tax Receipt contact change reviews. Ensure royalty requests and inquiries made by Licensors are addressed appropriately and completely according to Department guidelines.
  • Complex Agreement Administration: Ensure appropriate documentation on Royalty Disclosure agreements and accurate associated reporting. Understand and help administer complex redirection agreements based on detailed Licensor direction. Maintain clear records regarding redirection relationships, anticipate potential issues and questions related to reporting, and proactively plan.
  • Project Support and Analysis: Support the management team on high-level projects. Assist with the preparation and analysis of internal and external reports, presentations, and special reports both scheduled and ad hoc in a timely manner.
  • Process Adherence and Improvement: Perform daily tasks efficiently and independently while ensuring adherence and consistency in the application of all established processes and procedures in accordance with SOC-1, SOX, or other requirements. Make recommendations to Management regarding Departmental processes, procedures, and internal software systems to ensure that they are effective, efficient, and mitigate errors and are properly documented.
  • Training and Communication: Serve as lead in training new Licensor team members. Communicate to and train other teams/Departments on Licensor-related tasks as necessary.

  • Education and Experience: BS degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Economics, or a related subject or equivalent experience preferred.
