Position Title: Hearing Aid Technician

Department: Callier Center for Communication Disorders

Salary Range: $46,500 - $50,000, depending on qualifications

Employment Type: Regular full-time

Job Overview:

The University of Texas at Dallas is seeking a dedicated Hearing Aid Technician to support a skilled team of audiologists. This role is essential in ensuring the effective management and maintenance of hearing devices, working under the guidance of licensed professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct troubleshooting and repairs of hearing aids and assistive listening devices.
  • Manage the inventory and organization of hearing devices.
  • Provide technical support to audiologists and assist in patient care.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • One to three years of experience in audiology or hearing aid dispensing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Current Texas Audiology Assistant License or eligibility for licensure.
  • Three years of technical experience with hearing aids and assistive devices.
  • Proficiency in Spanish is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate empathetically with patients.
