Position Overview:
As a vital member of the pharmacy team, the Certified Pharmacy Technician I operates under the guidance of Clinical Pharmacists to deliver pharmacy services with dedication, precision, and care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare medication orders as per physician directives, adhering to established protocols and policies. Ensure the accuracy of computerized patient medication records. Compounding of non-sterile pharmaceuticals is required. Manage the issuance of controlled substances to patient care areas while maintaining compliance with legal and institutional regulations.
  • Participate in staff meetings to enhance team collaboration.
  • Specialty Areas - Act as the pharmacy technician in specialized settings such as operating rooms or designated pharmacy work areas outside the central pharmacy.
  • Ambulatory Care - Provide pharmaceutical care services in various settings, including anticoagulation clinics and discharge medication reconciliation.
  • Guarantee safe and effective drug therapies for patients, following established guidelines.
  • Accurately read and interpret information from patient medical records.
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives and medication use reviews. Collect data, conduct inspections, and maintain necessary documentation.
  • Be aware of potential exposure to hazardous substances, including chemotherapeutic agents and sharp instruments.
  • Risk exposure category: 0.
  • Possible exposure to biological materials during direct patient care activities.
Qualifications:
Registered Pharmacy Technician in the relevant state is required. Certification as a pharmacy technician is preferred. This is a full-time position.
