Enrichment Specialist with Engineering Expertise

ChalkSense LLC is a small business based in New Jersey that focuses on learning and enrichment initiatives. As an Engineering and Hardware Enrichment Instructor, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional hands-on experiences to local families.

About the Role

This paid hourly position offers flexible work hours within your availability, allowing you to balance your schedule according to your needs. The ideal candidate will collaborate with our local team to plan, conduct, and assess enrichment sessions, as well as contribute to operational logistics and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Instruct individuals and groups in engineering and hardware-related activities, adapting to participant needs and environments.
  • Be available on-call during after-school and weekend shifts, with flexible scheduling adjustments by instructors weekly.
  • Possess excellent communication skills and fluency in English for verbal and written interactions.
  • Demonstrate punctuality and time management skills, allocating time appropriately during sessions.
  • Plan, order, manage, and assess activity materials and supplies as needed.
  • Be physically able to conduct sessions in various environments, lift supplies (up to 10 pounds usually), and have accurate vision and hearing to assess and provide feedback.
  • Improve and modify activity sessions regularly, seeking internal and external stakeholder feedback and customization requests.
  • Collaborate with team members, providers, apprentices, and/or staff in enrichment-related activities and skills.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred.
  • 1+ years of experience in teaching, tutoring, mentoring, training, coaching, or supplementary instruction type of role.
  • Previous experience in event coordination, community service, customer service, communications, or a related field is a plus.
  • Familiarity with social media, marketing, content creation, or other relevant areas is beneficial.
