About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team at Niagara Bottling. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our production equipment and facilities. This is a critical role that requires a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, as well as excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on production equipment, including injection molders, blow molders, fillers/cappers, labelers, case packers, conveyors, palletizers, and stretch wrappers.
  • Troubleshoot and repair facilities and auxiliary equipment, such as chillers, air compressors, Reverse Osmosis, and other water filtration equipment.
  • Work directly with machine operators, supervisors, preventative maintenance mechanics, and senior maintenance technicians to resolve mechanical issues that arise during shift.
  • Propose solutions to complex and reoccurring problems on production equipment to senior mechanics and management to resolve issues.
Requirements
  • 4+ years of experience in a field or similar maintenance environment.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, including schematics, technical drawings, and testing equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics: electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic.
  • Skilled in the use of shop equipment such as hydraulic and mechanical presses, bench grinder, drill press, mill, and lathe, and assorted power tools.
  • Proficient skills with precision measuring equipment, such as calipers, dial indicators, bore gauges, and depth gauges.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 6+ years of experience in a field or similar manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in high-speed manufacturing, bottling, beverage, packaging, or plastics industries.
  • Experience with the following technologies: variable frequency drive (VFD), servo drives, and servo motor; rotary equipment such as rotary press or filler; thermodynamics, heat transfer, or plastics processing; Krones, Sidel, or Husky equipment; HVAC including chillers and/or air compressors.
