Position Summary: Reporting to the Director of Technology Planning, the Systems Administrator plays a crucial role in overseeing and enhancing our organization's IT infrastructure. This position is responsible for the management of server operations, network systems, and the overall security and efficiency of our technological environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and maintain both physical and virtual servers, ensuring regular backups, timely patching, and optimal performance.
  • Design, implement, and support the organization's network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN, firewalls, routers, and switches.
  • Enhance system security by developing and enforcing security policies, along with monitoring and managing security tools.
  • Conduct regular audits of systems and generate detailed reports on performance and security metrics.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues efficiently.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation and operational procedures for systems.
  • Manage and implement cloud solutions (AWS, Azure, Entra, etc.) as required.
  • Offer technical support and guidance to end-users and IT personnel.
  • Engage in disaster recovery planning and execution.
  • Contribute to the planning and upgrading of MDF/IDF rooms.
  • Monitor and enhance network connectivity for optimal performance.
  • Install server hardware and software as necessary.
  • Stay informed about the latest industry trends and technologies to maintain current and efficient systems.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in systems administration.
  • 2-4 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience with server virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.).
  • Proficient in network hardware and protocols.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Entra).
  • Strong understanding of system security principles and best practices.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Familiarity with Windows, Mac OS, iOS, and Windows Server environments.
  • Solid knowledge of Active Directory, vSphere, SharePoint, PowerShell, SCCM, LDAP, Project Management, and MDM.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, etc.) are advantageous.

The salary range for this full-time, exempt position is between $80-100k, depending on experience.
