We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant/Scribe to join our team at UnityPoint Clinics. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our providers in delivering high-quality medical services.
Responsibilities:- Assist providers with obtaining vital information, preparing patients for examination and treatment, and performing minor surgical procedures.
- Track follow-up appointments, laboratory tests, and procedures to ensure timely patient care.
- Schedule referrals for patients with specialists or outpatient services as requested by providers.
- Complete necessary forms and requisitions for referrals or lab testing, including accurate CPT/ICD-9 coding.
- Provide patient education and support, facilitating relationships between providers and ancillary services.
- Graduate of an accredited program for Licensed Practical Nurses or current CME certification for Certified Medical Assistant and AAMA, NCCT, RMA, or NHA certification.
- Current license to practice nursing in the State of Iowa/Illinois for Licensed Practical Nurse or BLS and Mandatory Reporter certification.
- Previous clinical experience in a medical office preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team member.
