We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our team at the State of Nebraska. As a Clinical Psychologist, you will play a critical role in providing mental health services to inmates, with a focus on those convicted of sexual offenses.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical supervision to mental health staff, ensuring they are equipped to provide high-quality care to inmates.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of psychological and mental health services for various inmate populations, with a focus on those convicted of sexual offenses.
- Provide training to other mental health and correctional staff as needed, ensuring they have the necessary skills to work effectively with inmates.
- Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations to determine diagnosis, risks, and needs, and develop treatment plans to address these areas.
- Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings and contribute to the development of behavioral plans for high-risk or special needs inmates.
- Provide psychotherapy and treatment services to inmates, including observation, crisis intervention, and mental status evaluations.
- Participate in involuntary medication hearings and screen/monitor individuals who may need to be considered for involuntary medication.
- Must be licensed to practice psychology in the state of Nebraska.
- Completed required APA-accredited clinical internship preferred.
- Management experience and supervisory experience with psychological and other mental health professionals are highly desirable.
- Forensic experience, experience working with incarcerated individuals, and experience assessing inmates convicted of sexual offenses are also highly desirable.
