Job Title: Supervisor, Food and Nutrition

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervisor, Food and Nutrition to join our team at Health Advocates Network, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising the quality of performance for employees on their team, assisting with interviewing, hiring, counseling, disciplining, and performance reviews, as well as overseeing adequate staffing and scheduling issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adequate amounts of food supplies are ordered and available to produce planned menus of the healthcare facility.
  • Write, test, and implement new and standardized recipes within guidelines.
  • Advise on the appearance, taste, and sanitation of food.
  • Conduct meetings and perform follow-ups as needed.
  • Demonstrate effective leadership and management skills.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, families, and students.
  • Delegate responsibilities and manage conflict and negotiation.
  • Adapt to continuous change in work demands while maintaining composure under pressure.
  • Supervise staff to be accountable to tasks and work productivity.
  • Practice positive collaboration and convert difficult interactions into productive ones.
  • Display knowledge of quality management methods, tools, and techniques and create an environment that meets the quality goals of the organization.

Requirements:

  • High school degree or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in the food service industry or food production industry required.
  • CDM (Certified Dietary Manager) certification, certified through the Association of Nutrition and Foodservice Professionals or a registered dietitian preferred.
