Job Title: RailTrack Engineer

AECOM's Chelmsford, MA office is seeking a talented Technical Lead for the Track discipline with freight and transit clients including CSX, Norfolk Southern, Amtrak and regional freight carriers and transit agencies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform civil design on a variety of freight/transit projects
  • Provide guidance for public projects on freight railways
  • Coordinate for stations and industry facility projects
  • Develop conceptual designs for client presentations
  • Prepare technical reports and analyses
  • Oversee and manage work within the ROW for multiple projects
  • Work with other track staff to manage projects
Requirements:
  • BA/BS in Civil Engineering plus six years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License
  • 10 years' experience on rail and transit projects
  • Expertise with Bentley OpenRail and AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Knowledge of FRA, DOT, AREMA and local railroad/transit criteria
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to lead meetings related to track
  • Ability to travel to meet with clients and attend site meetings
  • Ability to be ROW safety trained and meet FRA criteria to be on active railroad sites
