About this Unit

The 4G unit at Blodgett Hospital is a 22-bed medical and surgical unit specializing in digestive diseases. Our patient population is a mix of medical and surgical cases, including colorectal and bariatric surgical patients, as well as patients with bowel obstruction, kidney failure, cellulitis, and falls. We are an accredited bariatric surgery center focused on continuous quality improvement.

Scope of Work

As a nurse on our team, you will deliver patient care responsibly and accountably, adhering to professional standards and state regulations. You will demonstrate competency through the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. You will uphold the standards of professional performance, including ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, and research.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in nursing is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing is required within five years.
  • Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) licensure is required.
  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 90 days.
