Salary: $25-$28.20 per hour, based on qualifications and experience

Job Description

  • Develop and lead engaging play-based after-school programs for children aged five to ten.
  • Design and implement age-appropriate activities for Kindergarten through Fourth Grade students.
  • Provide care and supervision during rest periods and various services required by a licensed facility.
  • Administer basic first aid when necessary and adhere to health and safety protocols to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Collaborate with the Extended Day team and communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress.
  • Participate in faculty/staff meetings, grade-level discussions, and division meetings as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • An Associate or Bachelor's degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or a related field (with teaching credential preferred).
  • At least two years of experience working with children aged five to ten in a childcare, educational, or recreational setting.
  • Experience in planning and leading activities for elementary-aged students.
  • A desire to utilize outdoor spaces to introduce children to nature and foster connections between them and their environment.
  • Readiness to obtain a Washington State Department of Children, Youth & Families Merit certification, required for all employees in licensed facilities.
  • The ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, kneel, and sit on the floor, with energy to be active with children.
  • Capacity to perform housekeeping tasks and other duties as part of the role's responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication skills for working with students, parents, faculty/staff, and campus partners.
  • A positive attitude and enthusiasm for working in a Preschool through Eighth Grade, faith-based independent school.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional growth, cultural humility, and antiracism, understanding its critical role in academic excellence and student growth.

About This Role

This is a part-time position, requiring 18 hours of work per week, with opportunities for additional hours throughout the year. The schedule includes Monday through Friday, 2-5:30 pm, with occasional full-day care requirements during school closures.
