About the Role
Houston Community College is seeking a highly qualified Music Instructor to join our team. As a Music Instructor, you will play a vital role in shaping the musical talents of our students and contributing to the institution's proud tradition of excellence in academics, student life, and community service.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach music courses at the college level, including music theory, history, and performance.
- Develop and implement curriculum that aligns with the institution's academic goals and standards.
- Mentor and advise students on their musical development and career aspirations.
- Collaborate with colleagues to promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Stay current with industry developments and best practices in music education.
Requirements
- Master's degree with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in Music required.
- PhD, DMA, or Master's degree in Music is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated outstanding professional competency and experience may be considered in lieu of the educational requirement.
- Minimum of one (1) year of college-level teaching experience or three (3) to ten (10) years of related work experience required.
