Critical Care Transport Nurse

The Critical Care Transport Nurse plays a vital role in the safe and efficient transfer of patients from critical care areas to imaging departments, ensuring minimal delays in essential procedures. This position requires close collaboration with the Order Organizer (O2) and Internal Transport liaisons within the HUB. The O2 and Transport teams will coordinate with the Critical Care Transport Team (CCTT) to schedule transfers based on procedural timelines.
Key Responsibilities
Upon arrival at the unit, the CCTT will receive a concise handoff regarding the patient being transported. The nurse will ensure that all necessary equipment is available and will accompany the patient throughout the transfer process. After the procedure, the CCTT will return the patient to their designated bed and communicate any relevant events to the primary RN, Charge Nurse, or Manager. Documentation of the transfer will be completed in the EPIC system by a team member.
Qualifications
- Active Georgia License as a Registered Professional Nurse
- Associate of Science in Nursing or higher is mandatory
- Current certification in Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association is required
- Certifications in AHA BLS, ACLS, TNCC, ATCN, CEN, PALS, and/or NRP Instructor are essential
- Minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience, with additional expertise in education and training preferred
- Proficient in basic computer skills and Microsoft Office applications
