Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Utilities Plant Worker to join our team at the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans. As a Utilities Plant Worker, you will be responsible for operating equipment associated with the pumping and treatment of water and wastewater, as well as the generation and distribution of power.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate equipment in a large utility system, including pumps, treatment plants, and power generation facilities.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Monitor and control the flow of water and wastewater through the system.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the utility system.
Requirements
  • High school graduation or equivalent.
  • Ability to obtain a Louisiana Driver's License.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks that require standing, walking, and lifting.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
Working Conditions

The Utilities Plant Worker will work in a variety of settings, including outdoor environments and indoor facilities. The worker will be exposed to noise, dust, and other environmental hazards. The worker will also be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure safety.
