Key Responsibilities

The Home Health Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA, LPTA) is responsible for delivering treatment and providing exercise guidance and patient education aimed at enhancing the well-being of patients while adhering to the established care plan.

- Ensure compliance with all state regulations governing physical therapy in home care.
- Execute treatment plans as defined by the supervising Physical Therapist and perform only those procedures for which you are qualified.
- Make recommendations for modifications to the care plan to the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Instruct and assist patients in various exercises, muscle re-education, gait training, activities of daily living (ADL), safety protocols, and prosthetic training.

Additionally, you will:
- Observe, document, and report patient responses to treatment and any changes in their condition to the supervising Physical Therapist, nurse supervisor, or physician.
- Collaborate with other healthcare team members to coordinate patient care as necessary.
- Educate patients, families, caregivers, and other healthcare team members on therapy-related topics within the scope of practice for a Physical Therapy Assistant.

Qualifications

- Must hold a current license, registration, or certification to assist in the practice of physical therapy in the state of practice.
- CPR certification is mandatory.
- A valid driver's license, vehicle insurance, and access to reliable transportation are required.
