Huttig Building Products is seeking a skilled Assembler to join our team in a fast-paced lumber yard environment. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for assembling and fabricating pre-hung door units, ensuring high-quality products meet our customers' expectations.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare materials and merchandise for assembly line production by reading work tickets and gathering necessary materials.
- Assemble various millwork products, including exterior and interior door units, wooden patios, and window units, by reading orders and identifying necessary modifications.
- Inspect the overall quality of assembled products throughout the assembly process.
- Repair and/or disassemble defective millwork to prepare it for resale or restock.
- Maintain a clear production area, free of debris, and properly stored and secured work materials, hardware, tools, and equipment.
- Attend all safety trainings and meetings, and comply with OSHA and agency safety policies.
- Perform routine maintenance on tools, including cleaning, oiling, and checking for proper functioning.
- High School diploma or GED and one to two years' related experience and/or training.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one or small group situations.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
