Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Ambulatory Care Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing encounters and interactions with patients of all ages, ensuring a smooth and efficient visit experience. This includes greeting patients, performing registration and fiscal database tasks, and operating computer terminals to manage practice management systems.

- Perform registration and fiscal database tasks, including accurate input of patient information and payment processing.
- Operate computer terminals to manage practice management systems, including scheduling appointments and managing patient flow.
- Answer incoming telephone calls in a timely and professional manner, adhering to organizational and departmental service standards.
- Manage radiology prior authorization processes and schedule necessary tests using radiology order entry systems.
- Assist with maintaining a clean and organized workspace, including daily start-up and shut-down functions.
- Collect co-payments, cash receipts, and referrals, and perform daily reconciliation.
- Monitor waiting room and patient flow processes to ensure patients are served efficiently and communication around wait times is consistently available.
- Complete follow-up tasks on past day's patient visits, including reviewing patient lists and obtaining necessary forms and referrals.
- Perform check-out functions, including scheduling follow-up visits and providing patients with necessary documentation.
- Assist with patient transport within the facility as needed.
- Support administrative and clinical staff as needed.
- High school diploma or GED required; post-high school education preferred.
- Minimum one year of applicable work experience required.
- Additional training in office systems preferred.
- Knowledge of practice operations and standards.
- Understanding of procedures including filing, copying, scanning, printing, and faxing.
- Ability to use phone system and answer routine questions.
- Ability to interpret information and communicate in a professional, courteous, clear, and concise manner.
- Ability to manage work processes in a neat and orderly way and to sort and alphabetize.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and follow established protocols.
- Basic understanding of medical terminology and insurance types.
- Knowledgeable and compliant with all hospital, State, and Federal requirements.
