Job Summary

As an Aeronautical Data Subject Matter Expert at Jacobs, you will provide operational and aeronautical domain expertise in support of our projects and contracts. You will apply your extensive knowledge of aircraft, weapons, mission planning, and service and joint air operations to evaluate, design, and implement mission planning products and investigate aeronautical data quality issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support to assigned programs and projects
  • Interface with customer representatives to understand complex systems requirements
  • Translate complex systems requirements to developers and software engineers
  • Participate in the evaluation and assessment of mission planning products
  • Prepare and present technical briefings to customer management and staff
  • Investigate data aeronautical issues and automate manual data tasks
Requirements
  • High school diploma and at least 14 years of related experience, or BS degree from an accredited school and at least 8 years of related experience, or MS degree from an accredited school and at least 7 years of related experience
  • Extensive knowledge of aircraft, weapons, mission planning, and service and joint air operations
  • Knowledge of DAFIF, ARINC-424, or similar aeronautical data specifications
  • Experience with helicopter and/or fixed-wing flight and operations
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
Clearance and Work Environment

Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance. Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require filing, typing, and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner.

Travel Requirements

Work may require occasional travel. Must demonstrate professional behavior at all times when dealing with customers, management, and coworkers. Must have clear, concise, and accurate communications skills in English, both verbal and written.
