Shop Foreman Job Description

Are you a skilled maintenance professional looking for a challenging and rewarding role? Do you have experience leading a team and ensuring the safe maintenance and repair of complex equipment? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for a Shop Foreman at United Rentals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the activities of Service Technicians to ensure efficient and effective maintenance and repair of equipment.
  • Train and supervise mechanical personnel when necessary to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their duties.
  • Responsible for the safe maintenance and repair of a variety of complex rental equipment, including diagnosing and supervising the repair of equipment to ensure work is performed efficiently.
  • Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner on a daily basis.
  • When required, travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of rental or customer-owned equipment; must maintain service vehicle in a clean and professional manner.
  • Other duties assigned as needed.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma required; trade-School Degree a plus.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
  • 5+ years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools.
  • Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
  • Must own tools applicable to position.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction equipment with an advanced understanding of schematics and diagrams.
  • Strong diagnostic and repair skills for a variety of systems.
  • Superior customer service, teamwork, and verbal/written communication skills.

This position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals' policies and procedures.
