Job Overview
MV Transportation is on the lookout for a dedicated Transportation Operations Supervisor to oversee street operations in alignment with client expectations, operational standards, and safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct site inspections and road evaluations in accordance with client and local regulations.
- Document observations and generate necessary reports for project teams.
- Perform checks on wheelchair securement and cleanliness of in-service vehicles.
- Monitor street operations to ensure adherence to schedules and routes.
- Provide essential customer information to site personnel and at strategic locations.
- Respond to incidents, assisting in managing situations and gathering required information.
- Accompany operators to medical facilities when necessary following accidents or injuries.
- Fill in for vacant shifts to maintain uninterrupted service delivery.
- Conduct gate checks during pull-out or pull-in times to ensure timely service and proper paperwork completion.
- Identify potential rerouting needs due to traffic, construction, or accidents.
- Ensure all operators are fit for duty, meet uniform standards, and possess necessary licenses and certifications.
- Assist operators with service or passenger-related issues.
- Support dispatch and maintenance teams with vehicle changes occurring in the field.
- Provide feedback to safety and operations departments regarding service items affecting safety and performance.
- Assist in evaluating the preventability of accidents and suggest training improvements based on individual incidents or trends.
- Accurately document all field observations and maintain organized records.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Certifications as per local contract requirements.
- Experience in passenger transportation within a similar environment is essential.
- Prior training and/or field supervision experience is preferred but not mandatory.
- Demonstrated excellent safety and service record.
- Familiarity with local training programs and operational procedures.
- Knowledge of service area and client performance expectations.
- Ability to manage emergency situations effectively.
- Understanding of project-specific vehicles and communication systems.
- Knowledge of State and Federal regulations and corporate safety policies.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with all departments.
- Ability to work independently and maintain objectivity.
