RPG Programmer

We are seeking a highly skilled RPG Programmer to join our team at Seneca Resources. As an AS400 Application Development Analyst, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining complex applications using CL/400, RPG/400, ILE RPG, and SQL RPGLE.

• Perform complex analysis, design, development, and maintenance of AS400 applications.
• Develop system and program documentation to ensure clarity and accuracy.
• Test modifications and enhancements to ensure system integrity and stability.
• Debug and resolve production problems using system development processes and standards.
• Transfer knowledge and skills to junior level programmers to ensure continuity and growth.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts to ensure testing and training are completed effectively.

• Proficiency in CL/400, RPG/400, ILE RPG, and SQL RPGLE programming languages.
• Experience with Query 400, Aldon Change Management Software, and ImagePlus Operating Systems.
• Ability to analyze complex situations and make sound decisions based on partial information and risk assessment.
• Competent in all phases of applications systems analysis and programming activities.
• Strong understanding of Windows and MS Office tools.

• Develop new or enhanced programs based on technical specifications.
• Analyze and resolve technical problems and software bugs.
• Maintain and enhance existing applications to meet changing business needs.
• Work independently and collaboratively with team members to achieve project goals.
• Multi-task and work on multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment.
• Support testing of enhancements and fixes, and recommend solutions and identify required program corrections.
• Contribute to enterprise-wide metrics collection and participate in action plans.
• Document new or changed operational procedures and ensure static data/configuration/set-ups are accurate.
• Participate in peer review processes and respond to changing priorities and situations.
