Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Electronics Assembly Engineer to join our team at Arbin Instruments. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for assembling circuit boards and utilizing SMT and thru-hole soldering techniques.

About the Role:

  • You will work closely with our team to ensure high-quality products are produced efficiently and safely.
  • You will be responsible for performing soldering duties, including pre-wave assembly, through-hole and surface mount.
  • You will prepare components using a variety of lead-forming tools.
  • You will connect or route component lead wires between individual component leads or other components, connectors, terminals, and contact points.
  • You will perform online visual inspection and produce products to an acceptable production level.
  • You will ensure quality of product, conformance to designated process controls, and written procedures, and maintain efficiency to comply with schedule requirements.
  • You will be familiar with Surface-Mount and Through-hole Technology.
  • You will identify component packages and values.
  • You will follow all work instructions and documents according to company standards.
  • You will test and package PCBA assemblies.
  • You will communicate any quality issues to the immediate supervisor/team lead.
  • You will solder rework and touch-up of PCBA assemblies.
  • You will maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • You will have a good mechanical understanding and ability to learn, use, maintain, and repair assembly equipment.

Requirements:

  • You must be able to work full time.
  • You must be able to remove and replace defective components.
  • You will have knowledge and experience with complex soldering.
  • You will have basic computer and math knowledge.
  • You will have strong attention to detail.
  • You will be able to read and write English, follow verbal instructions.
  • You will be able to work as part of a team.
  • You will be willing to train the right person.

Education and Experience:

  • A High School diploma or GED is required.
  • You must have at least 3-5 years of SMT inspection experience on component identification.
  • You must have at least 3-5 years experience in mechanical, pre-wave assembly, through-hole, surface mount, electronic component identification, and performing reworks on printed circuits boards.

Estimated Salary:$65,000 - $75,000 per year

Work Environment:This role will be based in College Station, TX, where you will work in a fast-paced production environment.
