Responsibilities
- Examine children requesting care, diagnose their dental conditions, and prescribe or direct therapy as needed.
- Educate individuals on oral health-related conditions and promote general health and disease prevention.
- Record patient-dentist transactions accurately in the medical record and complete referrals and data collection instruments as required.
- Participate in quality assurance programs and contribute to the provision of continuing education, on-the-job training, and orientation of center staff.
- Assist in the provision of technical assistance and health education to the community as requested.
Requirements
- Board certification in pediatric dentistry or completion of an approved residency program.
- Licensure to practice medicine in the state of Louisiana.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
