Job Overview

Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated cook to design and prepare nutritious meals for a childcare facility catering to children aged 6 weeks to 12 years. The center adheres to the guidelines set forth by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction's Child and Adult Care Food Program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and prepare balanced meals in accordance with state nutritional standards.
  • Adhere to Wisconsin Food Service Guidelines, including sanitization, serving, dishwashing, and equipment maintenance.
  • Manage DPI menus, documentation, and essential paperwork.
  • Oversee inventory and equipment, including ordering and purchasing necessary food supplies.

Qualifications

  • Experience in preparing large quantities of food.
  • Knowledge of kitchen sanitation, food safety, and nutrition.
  • Familiarity with the CACFP food program or similar initiatives.
  • Physical capabilities to stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, and use hands and arms effectively.
