Job Description

We are currently seeking a qualified candidate to join our Transportation Construction, Engineering and Inspection group. As a CEI Roadway and Bridge Construction Inspector, you will be responsible for inspecting and monitoring construction activities at various field site locations in Fairmont, WV.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of materials, methods, and equipment used in highway construction, as well as knowledge of geometry and basic mathematics. You will be responsible for reading, interpreting, and explaining construction plans and drawings, contract provisions, and specifications.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform inspections of traffic control, environmental controls, layout, construction methods and materials, and all issues concerning the construction of a project under direct supervision.
  • Determine the acceptability of the day-to-day work performed by the contractor.

You will also be responsible for reviewing and recommending the acceptance or rejection of daily reports submitted by the contractor, performing inspection of the contractor's quality control procedures and material testing, and verifying that procedures are in conformance with the approved Quality Control Plan and established procedures.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
