Hardware Systems Engineer

Key Responsibilities:- Prepare functional requirements and specifications for hardware acquisitions
- Analyze hardware specifications and system/subsystem requirements to conceive and document a practical design for hardware components
- Ensure problems with operational hardware have been properly identified and solutions satisfy user's requirements
- Assist with preparing installation guides, field test procedures, and troubleshooting guides
- Conduct site surveys; assess and document current site network configuration and site-unique requirements
- Develop hardware installation schedules based upon set-up, integration, and test timeliness
- Train site personnel in proper use of hardware
- Recommend specifications for hardware acquisitions
- Prepare engineering plans and site installation Technical Design Packages
- Prepare drawings documenting as-built configurations
- Configure computers, communications devices, and peripheral equipment
- Prepare installation guides, field test procedures, and troubleshooting guides
- Bachelor's degree in communications engineering, computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, information systems, mathematics, or related discipline from an accredited college or university
- 7 years of experience as a hardware engineer analyzing complex hardware systems for SIGINT solutions
- Experience with scheduling requested evaluations submitted from vendors
- Experience with receiving, unpacking, and setting up submitted commercial equipment for evaluation
- Experience with reviewing equipment documentation and manuals
- Experience with selecting appropriate evaluation SOPs
- Experience with setting up appropriate tools and sensors to support evaluations
- Experience with operating equipment to perform defined performance and safety evaluations
- Experience with collecting technical data to support evaluation
- Experience with taking photographs of equipment and residues from tests
- Experience with generating technical reports to document evaluation results
- Experience with reviewing and updating policies related to secure destruction
- Experience with responding to customer inquiries concerning policies and procedures
- Current and active TS/SCI with polygraph based upon a SSBI
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery
- Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers
- Must be able to move vendors' equipment
- Repetitive motions
