About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated General Merchandise Expert to join our team at Target. As a General Merchandise Expert, you will be responsible for creating a welcoming experience for our guests, observing and responding to their needs, and ensuring that our sales floor is zoned, in stock, and accurately signed and priced.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional guest service, responding to their needs and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure that the sales floor is zoned, in stock, and accurately signed and priced, with a focus on creating a seamless shopping experience for our guests.
  • Execute inbound, replenishment, backroom, and signing processes for General Merchandise areas, with a focus on efficiency and accuracy.
  • Work collaboratively with the General Merchandise and Food Sales team to achieve sales goals and improve processes.
  • Stay up-to-date on product knowledge, sales trends, and operational procedures to provide expert advice to guests and drive sales.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or experience in retail or sales preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with guests, team members, and leadership.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on efficiency and accuracy.
  • Basic math skills and ability to handle cash and operate a cash register.
  • Ability to lift up to 44 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
