Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at St. David's Medical Center in Texas. As a Travel Nurse RN - Pre-Op PACU, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced preoperative care unit.

Responsibilities
  • Preoperative Care: Assist with preparing patients for surgery, including administering medications, performing vital signs, and conducting preoperative assessments.
  • Meditech Charting: Accurately document patient information and medical history using Meditech, our electronic medical record system.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • IV Skills: Administer medications and fluids via IV, as well as perform other IV-related tasks.
  • Block Experience: Assist with anesthetic block procedures, including preparing patients and monitoring their condition.
  • Port Access: Perform port access procedures, including inserting and removing catheters.
  • Medication Administration: Administer medications to patients, including antibiotics and other medications.
  • Health History Documentation: Accurately document patient health history, including medical conditions, allergies, and medications.
  • Consent Verification: Verify patient consent for surgical procedures.
Requirements
  • Pre-Op Experience: Must have previous experience working in a preoperative care unit.
  • IV Skills: Must have strong IV skills and experience administering medications via IV.
  • Meditech Charting: Must have experience using Meditech and accurately documenting patient information.
  • Block Experience: Must have experience assisting with anesthetic block procedures.
  • Port Access: Must have experience performing port access procedures.
Work Environment

As a Travel Nurse RN - Pre-Op PACU at St. David's Medical Center, you will work in a fast-paced preoperative care unit with a team of experienced healthcare professionals.
